Ford Transit

A favourite with many organisations, the Transit continues to be a popular buy, although in recent times increased prices have made it just too dear for some charities to buy.

Available in short, medium, long and Jumbo means that there's a Transit for most applications. Ford also produce their own fixed seat passenger vehicles at 9, 12, 15 and 17 seats which continue to prove popular with schools and private hire companies.

Wheelchair access is available across the Transit range from 1 to 5 wheelchairs depending on model. Wheelchair access is usually via a tail lift, however some front wheel drive models with a long ramp and winch have proved successful.

The Jumbo is our most popular Ford model at 17 seats or 4 wheelchairs and an underfloor tail lift at the rear. The side entrance suffers with a high step and a low aperture at the side load door, although this is improved upon greatly with our step modification and handrail arrangement. Inside, the high roof model offers plenty of headroom but the view out is compromised by a low window height, however the addition of glass roof vents can make the passenger compartment feel more light and airy.
